The latest version of a.k.a.® Version 2.9.7 offers many new features, enhancements and corrections to previous versions of a.k.a.® software


New Features

This latest release delivers major changes to the software licensing methodology. These changes ensure a.k.a.® compatibility with Windows Vista, and also makes installation and a.k.a.® licensing much easier for all users.
Currently licensed users will need to obtain a new unlock code from Synercon (standalone installations) or new network license files (network installations). Full details are included in the installation files, and on the a.k.a.® web site www.a-k-a.com.au.


Minor Enhancements

  • TA suite of additional report templates in XML format have been added.
  • Filtering of reports and exports has been enhanced. All export formats can now be filtered by user defined fields and by top level terms.
  • Additional security has been added when deleting terms.
  • The System Reference lists supplied with new databases have been reviewed and enhanced.
  • The Search function now allows multiple search screens to exist. For easy identification, the word/phrase being searched for is displayed in the screen title bar and in the Windows menu item.
  • The TRIM Thesaurus export has been revised to detect relationships which are incompatible with the TRIM thesaurus setup. These relationships are adjusted in the export file, and an exception report is produced.


  • a.k.a.® is used by large corporations and government agencies throughout the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia (including the Whole-of Queensland Gov't) and New Zealand.

    a.k.a.® continues to develop as the worlds leading software for building the foundation structures for records management which meet best practice standards defined in the Records Management standard ISO 15489.
